Pasangan yang sama sekali berbeda dari karakter yang ada di komputer ini memutuskan bertukar foto asli mereka. Namun, saat melihat foto tersebut, mengabaikan fakta yang ada, keduanya jatuh cinta dan akhirnya menikah pada 3 September 2011 di dunia nyata.
Mary Coulbeck mengaku sangat tertekan dan sedih karena hubungan terdahulunya kacau dan ia melarikan diri ke dunia maya melalui game online IMVU ini.
“Rasa percaya diri saya hancur, namun game ini memberi saya kesempatan menjadi orang yang saya ingin,” katanya seperti dikutip DM.
Tenggelam di kehidupannya di dunia maya, wanita ini bertemu Jay Coulbeck yang menjadi suaminya saat ini pada Agustus 2010. Dalam hitungan hari, pasangan ini makin dekat dan memutuskan untuk menikah.
“Saya sebenarnya berpikir game ini adalah hal bodoh. Namun saya bersyukur, Tuhan mempertemukan kami,” tutupnya.
